"Drop" began as the story of a man in a bar wondering whether a woman who comes in might just talk to him. He buys her a couple of rounds and hopes she'll look his way, but it never happens. It touches on the idea of crushes, whether for celebrities or ordinary people, that may or may not ever amount to anything.
lyrics
She walked in the room, you could have heard a pin drop
I can’t remember the last time I held my breath
She sat up at the bar and she ordered a tall one
She didn’t put it down until the very last drop
(Chorus)
She looked at me, I felt my heart stop
I could not take my eyes off of her
Is there a price to pay, I’d lay it down in hopes...that you would stay
Don’t think she ever paid for a drink that night
I know it’s true cause I bought her a couple of rounds
Now it’s one am, many have tried to take a seat next to her
She looked at me and I’m still holding my breath
She walked my way but kept on walking
(Chorus)
She looked at me, I felt my heart drop
I could not take my eyes off of her
Is there a price to pay, I’d lay it down in hopes
She looked at me, I felt my heart drop
I could not take my eyes off of her
Is there a price to pay, I’d lay it down in hopes…that you would stay
She walked into the room, you could have heard a pin drop.
