One thing that Rebekkah and Michael share is a love of word play. This song began as a string of text messages; the first verse is a direct quote of part of that conversation:

Michael: Truth.
Rebekkah: Dare?
Michael: Truth, and ask with care.
Rebekkah: Do you dare?

Rebekkah re-read these lines and immediately heard the beginnings of a song, which she stayed up that night to write, finishing about 1:30 in the morning.
